Literally, the Secret Hole-In-the-Wall that Legends are made of. Yep; it's that good and that unusual. Almost under a bridge, but truly between roads and across from the train tracks stand this innocuous building. The wrought iron gating is not as welcoming as it once must have been, and the seating is reminiscent of a 1970s Naugles. It is a small place that is longer than I have lived here (1984), currently still in the high desert, but there are food very well made to order and Taco Tuesday you can only not find a better deal with several decisions. So go for great food anytime, but not atmosphere, or food to go big family offers, fools, famous for them.
Casa Delicias has been my way to the Masa provider for years. I can say hands down they offer the best tasting tamale masa. I pulled four states away and Casa is my first station to be in stock on masa before returning home. I'm so sad they're closed for a fire. I pray they're up and running soon.
Obscure hole in the wall that everyone in the community knows and loves! Great Mexican quisine, very affordable. And they also sell all kinds of other things like mexican pastries and candies, canned and dried goods,, masa, corn husks, the stuff to make tamales with. And they cater too!

However, the minute you walk inside, the owner no matter how busy) greets each customer and you somehow know you have found the Holy Grail of Mexican food in So Cal. You are home. Start with a Family Pack I suggest the beautifully crispy/fatty carnitas: uuuummm) if it's your first time, but add on some cinnamon-sugar chips, too. Maybe 2 bags. Consider some mole and don't forget to pick up a menu to take with you. You will be back. I promise.
Since my children were babies, we went to this Mexican restaurant. We had them for our 30-year anniversary celebration and it was fantastic. Adrian and Margarite are just the nicest people. We wish them the best and they are in our prayers. Deborah sends Smooches.
