Amber Bear Inn

Amber Bear Inn
4.7 / 5 (274 reviews)

Description

Nestled on hundreds of scenic acres in western Montana, this eclectic inn pairs luxurious, spacious B&B rooms with quirky extras — a tiny 24/7 casino, roaming peacocks and deer, and home‑cooked breakfasts included. Guests praise comfy beds, warm staff and sweeping views, calling it a restorative, romantic escape. Caveats include occasional billing discrepancies, uneven service tied to owner behavior, and infrequent dips in food quality. Best for those seeking tranquility, character and a memorable, offbeat getaway.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I hardly know how to describe this. First take 400 remote acres in Western Montana. Put a meticulously crafted B&B (not a fair description cuz this is B&B on steroids), put in a cute tiny casino (24/7), serve home cooked food to order andthen have peacocks ???? running around the property. Top it off with very sweet staff and owners. I have not felt so comfortablebeing away from home. I would add, the detail the owners designed into this property will blow you away.

Such a great place to stay! The owners are very friendly and welcoming, there's tons of hiking nearby, and it's a beautiful area. The rooms are big and comfortable and the food was great. SUPER dog friendly, my pup had a great time. I highly recommendstaying here, I'll definitely be back :

I don't have enough positive words to describe the experience my group had. When we arrived on the property, we were met with midwestern-style hospitality and completely personable interactions. When we went into our rooms, I was very impressed with theattention to detail, cleanliness, and general uses of the space to provide a holistic and relaxing experience. Watching thepeacocks from the second floor was very entertaining. Owners said bears frequented the property, but we sadly didn't seeany. We went for some walks on the property, which allowed us to see more of the property. The scene was phenomenal- openfields and large mountains to look at, which you can see from some bedrooms in the house. There is quite a bit of hiking nearby, which we look forward to doing later this summer. Amber Bear was a great find, and perfect embodiment of small town stays. Icouldn't have been more impressed with the hospitality received and the friendliness of all guests on the property. Our onlyregret was that we couldn't stay longer. We will be back!

The included breakfast was excellent. The owner is very knowledgeable and though we differ politically, had a good, interesting conversation. The dinner was also great! We saw deer, elk and relaxed in the front. Very nice! Service: 5

We took friends there for dinner. We were the only ones there. The sweet waitress treated us very well and was friendly. The food was good. Not impressed when Mr. Owner guy walked through the dining room in his T-shirt and shorts. Didn't acknowledge that we were there until one of us spoke to him. He went off on a political rampage, which was a big turnoff. We won't be back. Service: 5
