We were on a back road on our motorhome holiday, hoping rather than expecting a 'bon trouve', when we spotted this place. It was 19.30 so I nipped in to reserve a table for 20.00. Job done. It was filling up as we freshened up in the car par and there was only 1 free table by the time we checked in.We ate the tapas platter to start the steak and magret de canard. What User doesn't like about Mets Envies:
We were seated near the door and politely asked if we could move as the cold wind came in through the door. We were given another table but the subsequent service was glacial. Our amuse bouche and beef brochettes were excellent. We were even ignored when we asked for the bill! My husband had to get up and request to pay. Such a pity because the food and ambience were lovely. View all feedback.

We were a party of seven attending our dinner at Mets Envies. Our first experience was that the space between the different tables was kind of narrow. There are no offers for menus, only à la carte is available at high prices. Service is poor, partly assured by a trainee, who did not even know how to open a bottle of wine properly... a bad start for the evening. We had tunafish as a main starter followed by faux-filet for many others. I had snails as a starter, they were only luke-warm when they came. For the main course, for some reason, two sauces were served, nobody really knows why. After leaving the restaurant, and meeting up with the party the next morning, we found out that most of them had severe stomach aches during the night, and had no or only a few hours sleep. Summary: we will not return to the place... there are other gems to find in the Champagne area.
A lovely restaurant in such a lovely small village off the beaten track. Excellent food wines, we thoroughly enjoyed our steak the chocolate dessert was divine. A wonderful way to end our holiday in France.
Lovely restaurant with excellent well presented food. Lovely atmosphere with tables buzzing both inside and out.
