Tin Mill Brewery - Hermann
Tin Mill Brewery
Description
Nestled in Hermann, this brewery offers a charming blend of excellent local beer and hearty food, making it a favorite spot for visitors, especially during Oktoberfest. While the outdoor seating provides a cozy ambiance, inconsistencies in service and communication about business hours have led to mixed experiences. Patrons appreciate the quality of the brews, particularly the porters, and the menu items receive positive reviews, although some former offerings, like beer flights, are no longer available. Overall, it’s a delightful venue but could improve in some operational aspects.

Maybe the beer is good (didn’t have any) but the food was pretty basic for the price.
I visited during Oktoberfest and was surprised by a $2 cover charge for the "live band." We decided to pay, and I found a spot near the front door where I could observe the person collecting money. It seemed like he was only charging every third person, and it was mostly groups—perhaps he was selectively charging those he thought looked attractive, though I can't say for sure what his criteria were. When he saw me, he actually came inside and told the bartenders to charge a customer for their entry. If you’re going to enforce a cover charge, it should be applied to everyone or at least handled by someone honest. I may return to Hermann, but I wouldn't recommend this place.
