Contribute FeedbackThe Wye Inn offers a wide variety of food options, including a delicious Sunday carvery. The atmosphere is friendly, service is dependable, and prices are affordable. Families will appreciate the indoor and outdoor play areas for kids. However, recent reviews have highlighted issues with rude and incompetent staff, inedible food, and dirty tables. Despite these negative experiences, the pub remains a popular spot for many, with some diners praising the delicious food, welcoming staff, and special touches for celebrations. Overall, mixed reviews suggest that The Wye Inn could benefit from improvements in service quality and consistency.
We recently visited The Wye Inn for my niece's birthday where there were 18 of us in total. We all had tables near each other and close to the play area since we had young children. The staff were very busy but still welcoming, making sure we were all okay. The food was delicious and we even stayed for dessert, which was also fantastic. Despite being super busy, the staff took the time to bring out my niece's birthday cake with candles lit and sang happy birthday to her. Thank you so much to The Wye Inn and their wonderful staff!
Rude incompetent staff, Food not fit to feed a dog, Priced like there a city centre restaurant, ordered a full English, Dry baked beans in a tiny pot, One piece of burnt bacon, cold hash brown. Went with a work group, 22 in total staff and residents , steer clear, go to Maccies,, Better quality food and more helpful staff, Sticky tables. Toilets no better than public toilets next to swimming baths.
Lovely food, As always! One of our favourite places to go.. The carvery is lush and the gravy is delish!
Great for kids. Pet friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Outside has been refurbished, nice space. Highly recommend. Lovely food and friendly staff.
I have been to the Wye Inn a few times and have never been disappointed but this time!! I took my 8 year old Granddaughter for a treat. We moved first as there were kids screaming in the inside play area. Chose our food and waited and waited, there were probably three other tables as well as ours so hardly run off their feet. It was like the YT 's had been left in charge. I got someone else 's order apology given. We had beef burger for my Granddaughter and it was as flat as a pancake, vile looking thing. I forgot to ask for cheese and had to add an additional £1 for the privilege of the most pathetic amount of cheese going. My Granddaughter was given baby plastic plates that spun round and round on the table. Food in my granddaughters words was the worst she had ever eaten out. I agreed fully. There was no 'back up check ' to see if everything was alright. Half the time the bar was un manned. We had ordered a 'kids ' meal with a jelly pot chosen by us (such imagination). We just got up and left before any dessert was served. Nipped to the loo and our dirty plates were still on the table when we walked back by. Poor Service, lackadaisical manner. totally unappetising food. Plus side peas were good! Wow. The pub on the whole is a nice place with plenty of seating, but get your act together and some decent staff too. It used to be cheap and good quality now it 's more expensive and nasty quality.
