Visited with my husband on a sunny day. Lovely cakes and sandwiches on offer. Coffee was lovely. Small cafe but very clean and tidy. I'm a keen foodie and love to visit quaint coffee shops being in the trade myself. The girls were very friendly, the only wee small gripe I have is the lady seemed a little uptight View all feedback.
What Jam4toast doesn't like about The Cafe And Tearooms On Bridge St:
I was on a journey with very little time to stop but very hungry. I asked in the shop opposite if they did takeaway sanwiches. They very nicely said they didn 't, but the cafe across the road, ie the Pembridge Cafe, did. So I went to this cafe and asked at the counter and, fair play, the woman was flustered, but in a very sharp, angry, tone she said 'I 'm far too busy to do takeaways! What a nice breakfast will definitely visit again. Such nice surroundings and friendly staff. Will be coming back and looks nice accommodation
Popped in for mid afternoon snack. Absolutely brilliant, really helpful staff, very imaginative offering and lovely service. Small covers and very happy to recommend.
The cakes at this restaurant are excellent and have a homemade feel, with some gluten free options available. The Earl Grey tea is brewed to perfection, with a peak of freshness and no hint of being oversteeped. The service was quick, polite, and efficient, and the ambiance of the room fits perfectly with the cafe theme and the quiet atmosphere of the village.
Recently reopened as Bloom and Grind, had really nice flat whites and cakes. One was a Cruffin from Pete Cook's bakery, massive but awesome.
We visited on November 15th, 2023 for a late lunch with our 4-month-old baby. We each ordered a soft drink and the Brie, Bacon, Cranberry panini, which was served with Coleslaw, crisps, and a side salad. The food was excellent, especially the homemade Coleslaw and fresh side salad. The panini was delicious, hot, and filled generously with nicely cooked bacon. The staff were friendly and took the time to chat with us about our baby. Despite reading previous reviews about a potentially rude staff member, we had a pleasant experience. The cozy restaurant was clean and well-decorated with dried flowers and gifts for sale. We would definitely go back again.
