After lock down the cafe reopened. So my father and I decided to have some lunch after shopping. A long time ago this cafe was quite nice. But just before lock down it was rather grim. But though it looked OK. Omg it was disgusting. Cold poorly cooked food. Which I personally would not feed a animal. Then whilst looking at the allergen menu it did not make any sense what so ever. Cold carrots on my daughter's food all day breakfast tasted like it had been sat under a hot plate and the Robinson juice was a bit bitter
I was staying at Travel Lodge across the road and decided to have breakfast at this restaurant. We had to wait a while to be served, and it would have been helpful if the staff had communicated that there would be a delay instead of focusing on other tasks. When we were finally served, the customer service was lacking. However, the breakfast itself was average, so I am giving it three stars. Next time, we will look for an independent café instead.
When we arrived we had to wait till 11.30 before we could order food as they only have the breakfast menu till 11.30 well both myself and my friend ordered me fish and chips and my wife had Jacket Potatoe with cheese my friend also had fish and chips we waited for 40 minuites for our food to arrive at 12 40 when it arrived the food was cold the cheese on my wife's Potatoe was not melting the chips were cold and the fish was warm but not hot I had a word with the girl who brought the food to the table and she told me that the bottom of the plate was hot but instead of apologizing she said again that the food was hot well we asked for our money back and left disgusted with the way we were treated and will never eat there again we were made to feel it was our fault . lesson learnt. people who came after us were served first and I think our food was left served up but left to get cold instead of bringing it straight away
Waited 35 minutes for a cold meal. The server argued that it was acceptable, but thanks to a good supervisor, I received a refund. Overall, not impressed.
Lovely breakfast at the Sainsbury’s cafe , good customer service from the young guy behind the counter, would definitely recommend.
