The Lilly Pad - Henrico

What a night! This was our first time in the Lily Pad and we? time and again customers. We went on a Friday night, ready to hear some music, have a few drinks and enjoy some delicious food. And we did! Another tank?

This is WONDERFUL. I was skeptical after reading some of these reviews. All employees were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived until we were gone. The hostess was friendly. We sat in the bar area on the river in front of a fire pit and had a drink while waiting for our table, it was the perfect way to relax and much welcome at the end of the working week. And the sunset was amazing!!! The food was freshly tasteful, the portions were large, and service was excellent. We can't wait to come back.

The place has a cool environment when you go. We thought it was indoor eating on some of the pictures, but found it strictly outdoors. That's all right. The wind and the weather were compatible to enjoy a meal outside. They had many heaters, if necessary. Service was excellent. They've often checked us enough and with good timing. The food was fine. Nothing disturbed. We had both burgers. The quality of the ingredients on the burgers was good. I was blown away a bit from the strawberry butter for the hush puppies. With and without butter. We'll hang out for drinks during the summer and maybe try another starter, but I'm not sure if it's a place where we go out for dinner.

Holiday with views of the James River and the marina. Great food and drinks. Check the schedule for live music. I enjoyed a Sunday lunch with my Hubby on the outside terrace. No kitchen. We ate roast Wels sandwich. Baked oysters and fried shrimps... all excellent!

The chicken tender basket was underwhelming. I wanted the chicken for my salad, but I ate the tenders and took my salad home. The Greek salad had the best pepperoncini I have ever tasted! I was told that they are imported from Greece. I asked for extra to take home, but I wish they came as a side. The service was pretty good except that I could not identify the servers from the patrons. However, we had a few different servers who checked on us often, so we did not have to wait long for anything. I would recommend going during day hours for the scenery.
