Casa Teja - Hennessey
Casa Teja
Description
A beloved small‑town Mexican spot is best known for its Saturday prime rib and ribeye — lauded as top‑tier and cooked to order — alongside reliable staples like chips & queso, shrimp cocktail and chimichangas. Friendly, family‑run service and quick à la carte fare contrast with inconsistent waits, occasional missing sides, uneven portions and cramped, noisy front seating. The back dining area is quieter. Modest décor and small‑lot parking underline its unpretentious charm: a destination for steak lovers and regulars, despite service and menu reliability issues.

If you're able to get a chance on Saturday get the ribeye. It was one of the top three steaks I've had. I ordered mine medium rare and that's exactly what we recieved. It was seasoned to perfection and had plenty of flavorful fat too. I started eating it so no pictures sorry. Vegetarian options: It's a Mexican resturants not a strict veggie place. Parking: Main street parking and parking in a little lot in the back. Kid-friendliness: Most people bring their kids and noone minds.
I have been coming here since I was a baby. I know the owner and she's so sweet and the food is always incredible. I would eat here every day if I could especially with all the compliments.
We travel from Kingfisher just for Saturday steak night! Aside from the steak night, the chips and queso are always fresh, and I absolutely love the shrimp cocktail. My husband can't get enough of the chimichanga with ranchero sauce. The staff is always kind and welcoming. We adore Casa Teja!
Food was ok but with some issues. No sour cream was served with the fajita nacho, so it was just chicken and cheese, and the chimichanga I ordered was not on a 12 inch tortilla as stated in the menu. The man behind us, who came in after and got served before, had a 12 inch tortilla on what he had. A very noticeable size difference. Staff never filled water, queso or salsa and chips and the man behind is got serving cups twice the size as our salsa and queso. Got done paying and she just said see ya. Not sure what we did, but you will not be seeing us again.
Tables are too close together and was impossible to hear the ppl at our table over over customers around us. We visited middle of the week at 7p. We waited an hour for our order to be told that there were basic things they were out of and then had to request other items that according to our menu, should have been on the plate. Overall, a disappointing meal and will not be back
