That must be because it’s a popular place we thought. We weren’t disappointed. The restaurant was booked fully an hour later. They sell pizzas to go as well so the kitchen was very busy. Some tables had to wait a bit longer for their pizzas I gues. We came in “early” so had our meals served to us quite rapidly. The pizzas were very tasty and big. Nice thin bottom and crust. Italian style. The kids pizza had the perfec size. When we wanted to leave, we waited 20 mins for a waitress but they were incredibly busy. Went to the bar ourselves to pay and discovered some local doing the same. So perhaps that’s what you supposed to do? I don’t know, but it didn’t bother us that much. We could see the waitresses running their legs off so we could understand either way. Had a lovely dinner and would come back.
Almost the only resto open on a Sunday night therefore not a lot of choice. Fortunately it wasn't bad. The missus had le Del Castello pizza which, according to she who must be obeyed, should be avoided at all costs, although she was impressed by the thinness of the crust (just how we like it) and by the speed of delivery. We are convinced we were eating it within 5 minutes of ordering, although that may have had something to do with the very reasonably priced, and very drinkable, house red. My (seafood) pizza wasn't the best by any stretch of the imagination but it wasn't bad at all and I would not hesitate to go back. Certainly it beat the pants of Pizza Del Arte where we went 4 nights later.
Our family have been visiting Del Castello since our very first summer of owning a maison secondaire in the Morbihan over 16 years ago, but it was only on our last visit that I realised that I have never put a review on TA. This is, quite simply, our favourite pizzeria in Brittany. We have tried many others, but for us nothing has ever matched Del Castello. We usually visit at least 4 times a year and we have never had anything other than fantastic, great value food, and the restaurant is always busy with a pleasant ambiance, with friendly staff, and the proprietors, a husband and wife team, are always on hand, cooking the food, but always welcoming all diners. The pizzas are terrific and a typical meal for 4, including drinks, is c€60, which, even with the recent disastrous performance of sterling is c£45.00! Amazing value! We wholeheartedly recommend Del Castello to everyone, safe in the knowledge that good food always speaks for itself.
I regularly take pizza in this restaurant and it’s by far the best of all I’ve ever tasted! and as soon as I have to order elsewhere it is always a disappointment. The king of pizza!
That the happiness a good and true pizza without sidewalks full of garnish and do not forget the extra double cheese very beautiful bcp of separate tables think to book the weekend
