It was a last-minute decision, and I hadn't been to The Rising Sun in about 28 years! However, we were in the mood for a nice Saturday meal. The food was delicious—full of flavor and generously portioned. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We'll definitely be coming back! View all feedback.

I have allergies so eating out can be a little worrying. The Chef came out and advised me on my choices. Felt completely safe. Many thanks.
Enjoyed our lunch. Must admit we chose the Rising Sun because we could book online international travelers so we had no phone to book which was the only method with other pubs we considered.
A real country pub. In the woods, although Henley nearby to keep the wife happy with a spot of retail therapy. Blazing fires, lots of board games, not a prissy gastro pub. Very friendly lady brought a coffee and Telegraph while I waited for my friend. Excellent menu, super soup and doorstep sandwiches, nice to see vegan/veggie choices well thought out and not one dismal last item on a menu as so often. Next time I shall try the welsh rarebit !. What must the Sunday roasts be like? Thank you Rising Sun, you made a lunch time meet-up special, Charles Escott-New.
A very nice country pub in a quiet location. It was unfortunate that there was only 1 chef in the kitchen so food took a while to arrive. The food was a little disappointing.
