Nice view, not bad food, restaurant itself quite tired and rustic. Very friendly waiters quite casual, maybe even to casual. Good for casual get together with friends. View all feedback.
My wife and I were looking for a winery where we could relax and enjoy a light lunch. From their website, it looked as though Edgecombe Brothers would be just what we wanted. When we arrived, we could park under a shady grape vine. On walking into the café we were greeted by a friendly young lady who took us to our table under a huge shade sail. It was a warm day and there was a gentle breeze and we had a view over the grape vines to a lake. Because we were looking to enjoy a light lunch, the menu was just what we wanted. The food was delicious, well presented and the service was fast, friendly and quick. The atmosphere was rustic, and we felt very welcome. The gentleman playing the piano just added to our experience. We could not fault what this winery offered.
Friendly service and yummy platters. We had an interesting conversation with the nice gentleman who runs the place. Thank you for the hospitality.
We had a fantastic time wine tasting and having lunch at this charming rustic venue. We enjoyed trying out different wines and sat at a lovely table outside under the grapevines on a breezy, cool day. The food was delicious and we loved being able to sample wines before and after our meal. We ended up purchasing our favorite bottles to enjoy at home. Alfred and his staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making our experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely recommend and return for another visit.
We have visited this winery before and it is likely we will visit again in the future. My husband organized a lunch here for my birthday with a group of friends. If you are looking for silver service and a five-star restaurant experience, you may be disappointed. However, you will get much more than that. The menu is simple but very good, with dishes meant for sharing. The table service was a nice touch. While we were waiting for our food, we had planned to do a tasting but were asked to stay at our table instead. The owner then brought the tasting to us, which was excellent service. In addition, the owner's knowledge of the local area and history was impressive. This is not a place to rush through, so take your time and enjoy all it has to offer. You will not be disappointed.
We anticipated a busy Father's Day and ordered early to avoid the crowds. However, one member of our group received their meal promptly while the rest had to wait an additional hour. My arancini dish arrived with only 6 small pieces instead of the promised 8, and they were cold. Although the soup was delicious, the rest of the mains were a disappointment. On a positive note, our appetizers were satisfactory. Despite the friendly staff, we cannot recommend this café in the Swan Valley as there are better options available.
