View all feedback.
What Alice Perret doesn't like about Restaurant Battela:
I feel a little brave challenging the many positive reviews but can only report on what we found on a mid week holiday evening. That was a lovely restaurant with enthusiastic and friendly serving staff, but let down by disappointing food for the price. The monkfish...carpaccio has no place on the menu at any price watery and tasteless. Quite amazed to be served it frankly. The main courses were elegantly presented bu... View all feedback.
Fantastic service from the waiters, really good food, all right! So if they are in the city, I will recommend this place
We visited that we booked our table by e-mail, we had received an e-mail confirmation from elo so that we have read good reviews on ta that we were delighted about our visit. we were met by a charming dame that we suspected to be elo on the door and on our table shown, the restaurant is small, but much space for the number of diners, (approx. 20). all the tables were so reserved that I wouldn't say it. we have been talked about both the menu and the wine list and with free help chose a suitable wine to accompany are dinner choice. we both had the cooked eggs dressed with Fois grass, sparing and nuts, beautifully dressed with a delicious foam. for the net I had the cadjau and mean man of the turbot, both were excellent, a fine culinary experience. we could not resist the idea of dessert to complete, we chose the rice and the chocolate, both were excellent. we could not fail our experience at all and would absolutely recommend us. others have considered, but for us the portions were perfect and the use of foam supplements the dishes.
We went here on a Sunday evening. The place was full by 8-8:30. Staff are very lovely and incredibly patient with my terrible french! Food was ok, beautifully presented. My tuna was perfectly cooked. However we both felt it was presentation over flavour. It did...not wow us for the price. I also just personally object to foam...
