The food was delightful, and the service was incredibly friendly. The publican, Mel, was wonderful and took the time to inform us about the beers on tap and even helped us select an intriguing gin. The salmon was so delicious that I completely forgot to take a photo. Definitely worth a visit!
This is a well-maintained country pub restaurant that offers excellent service with friendly staff. The garden is safe and well-kept, making it a great bonus for families with children or pets. The restrooms are impeccably clean. If you're looking for a pleasant getaway, this place deserves a solid five stars. The photos also showcase beautifully designed customized bar tables.
We absolutely love the new inn! The staff is incredibly friendly and engages in conversation with customers, which is just how it should be. You never have to wait long at the bar for service. The waitresses are fantastic—very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is exquisite and offers great value for what you pay. There's also a lovely beer garden and ample parking available. Highly recommended!
Good food, quick service. beerbattered sweet and sour bun, with the biggest pieces of chickens I've ever seen. a far cry from the usual takeaway version. Irish cremefreude eis was also great.
Went for Sunday roast with a group of 5 adults, one eleven year old and a toddler. The roast was excellent beef cooked perfectly and sliced fairly thickly so it retained it's juiciness. Lovely yorkshire pud and plenty of veg, all cooked just right ie not overcooked retaining a slight bite. Good selection of traditional desserts the chocolate brownie with cream was light, moist and very chocolatey! Proper old Cornish pub, a couple of miles outside Helston (less than 10 mins drive) in the hamlet of Wendron so very rural but not remote. Ambience warm and cosy; hosts Phil and Mel friendly and welcoming. Prices very reasonable with a choice of large or smaller (for children or those with a smaller appetite. All in all, what more could you want if looking for good value Sunday roast. Highly recommended.
