Rooms are rather dated but I see they are renovating, the breakfast area has been updated and looks grand, breakfast was good also, a lot of variation. Location is great and very central, all of 5 minutes walk from the train station and in a quiet area. View all feedback.
What Lyndsay Toensing doesn't like about Arthur:
Let me start by saying the staff were wonderful, the lobby is cute, and my mom and siblings said the breakfast was delicious. The rest of the hotel is being updated. The current rooms were sufficient. We did love the private sauna in the hotel! The rooms were very basic and there was a strange smell. But we slept fine. I think it will be much better with some updates. View all feedback.
Excellent location, close to tourist places and public transportation. Spacious and clean room. Beds are comfortable. I didn't like the bathroom, when you shower the water spreads everywhere and the drain smells a little. It is an old building but well maintained. The reception staff is helpful and very nice. Breakfast is amazing with many options.

Superb location a few blocks from the main Helsinki train station. Staff super friendly and very welcoming. Overall, decent hotel though pricey for what you get. Reminds me a lot of a Motel 6 in the US. Room cleanliness was ok but left a lot to be desired. Found hair in the sheets and lint on the floor that I had to sweep up before putting my stuff down. Only 2 pillows that seemed old and had lost their support. Bed was ok though worn and noticeably sank leaned towards the center of the mattress : Walls were thin and could definitely hear the neighbors on both sides. Bathroom was functional though really weird setup where the sink drained into an open drain vs closed pipe) and no floor separation for the shower so water spilled out onto the bathroom floor underneath the shower curtain. Additionally, you can definitely hear the city noise from outside all hours of the night. Double paned windows but didn't really seem to help.
Noisy, filthy and a really bad smell all over the hotel. Paint falling off the windows which couldn’t even open cob webs and filthy floors. Way to high temperature in the room. No ventilation or fresh air in the hallway. Way way to high temperature in the hallway as well. They smelled moldy and sour. No shoehorn in the room. No coffee or tea in the room though there was a kettle…? Price list in the fridge which was totally empty….? The small refrigerator in the room was not cold. The breakfast was really poor. The people in the reception never made eye contact or expressed any greetings regardless of the time of day. No hello’s or goodbye’s. One positive thing about the hotel was it was placed in a good location for various sightseeing activities.
