That is why the meeting with our relatives took place. A car wash has to be planned for a visit here, because the path is very dusty and stuffed with many percussion holes. The place itself lies idyllicly hidden in the valley of the wild Rodach. It was once a mill and was lovingly executed and rebuilt. There are many celebrations, weddings, etc. We were kindly served by the boss and your daughter. On the melody we enjoyed coffee and cake as well as some cold drinks. Unfortunately, we only got a slip as an invoice, so I can't say the individual prices. Although these were still acceptable for francs in the upper frame. What you can't say at dinner. Beef roast with coagulation and red cabbage was good and sufficient, but €18.80 serving. The Rumpsteak with pepper sauce €25,80 or with seedlings €29,80 with croquettes (we had roasted) without salad was not particularly tender and partly flexible. For quality too expensive. I would have accused My local acquaintances did not want to look. A bread-time dish for 10,80 € is plentiful and cheaper in other locals, but it was still acceptable because we do not want to pick up. We spent a nice day here. The food prices and the quality of steaks should be taken into account and the one service could work on your kindness.
One colleague has recommended the Bischofsmühle several times. Today, on a Friday night, it finally worked with a visit. In nice weather we wanted to eat. The trip is not easy. At the end about 3 km on a gravel road to the mill. There the mill awaits us, beautifully romantic at the brook in the middle of the forest on a small light. The beer garden is beautifully decorated while the pillows sometimes lack on the chairs, but otherwise the location and equipment is beautiful. The guest room is very nice in small rustic pastries, the event rooms. In the garden the reception was very tasteful for a wedding. The map was good, fish, a lot of beef, ice skates as a daily special, but the prices were expensive, ice skates 14,80€, that you in the Frankenwald sometimes at half price. Since we only wanted to eat a little on Friday night, I decided for the sausage salad for 6,80€. Unfortunately, the part was small and tastefully nothing special. The bread was disappointing. I was looking forward to a fresh, crispy peasant or land bread, I have a ready bread from the day before. When I communicated this to the service, it was first commented with ok, then of course the sausage salad, which was already sold out today, is offered a peasant bread. Should I not receive this information when ordering? Or at dinner? I wonder if a simple court unfortunately has only a moderate quality, how is that for expensive dishes? There is a quote from Schubeck that he expects a good cook to understand his craft for simple dishes, such as meat plants before he creates special dishes. In this sense, I am unfortunately disappointed by the Bishops' Mill and will probably not allow to eat something special there.
The Bischofsmühle is a stylishly decorated guest house and its historical ambience perfectly connects to the romantic surroundings in the middle of the forest. Ideal also to celebrate weddings. The guests are mixed colourful, whether young or old. Even on a well-visited day, like yesterday's Mother's Day, the service was polite and very attentive. We were kindly received and there were no waiting times. On the menu there is something for every taste, especially Franconian specialities, wild and fish dishes as well as bread times. On Mother's Day there was a special card. We started with a delicious aperitif (Kir Royal). The selection of drinks leaves no wish. The food didn't look delicious, it was really a pleasure. The main course (spread gel with pork fillet) was superlecker, the meat was perfectly fried and the asparagus was easy to bite. The potatoes were thrown into butter and semmelbugs. The dishes were freshly prepared and served at the table, especially for all guests. We were very happy. The vanilla ice cream with strawberries perfectly rounded. In the end we had a coffee/ espresso. The price-performance ratio is reasonable, the presented quality has convinced us. I can only recommend a visit to the Bischofsmühle. We were more often there and are always enthusiastic about food and the great ambience. The ride or return trip can also be combined with a walk.
