Slappy's
Menu
Here you will find the menu of Slappy's in Heiskell. At present there are 15 meals and beverages in the menu.
Slappy’s delivers bold, authentic barbecue — standout brisket, ribs and smoked pork draw consistent praise, with memorable sides like smoked cabbage, shrimp gumbo and banana pudding. Owners and live music create a warm, down‑home atmosphere, but expect rustic conditions: much seating is outdoors with flies, a rough parking lot and uneven service. Portions and side quality can vary, and some sauces and sides divide opinion. Overall, adventurous meat lovers will find expertly smoked barbecue in a casual, sometimes imperfect setting.

Good food and nice people, wings were a little burnt and I would prefer some actual walls around me so the bugs don't get in my way, but I had a good experience! View all feedback.
What Jay A dislikes about Slappy's:
Just take a moment to observe the person preparing the food. Then imagine putting something in your mouth that has been handled by them. You’ll likely want to turn and leave. The portions are small and the prices are steep. View all feedback.
You get to sit outside under cover with a lot of flies as company. The parking lot is rough and tumble. For comfort there is a big floor fan blowing the flies sideways. Expensive for the amount of food you get I chose the sausage which tasted smokey even though the portion was tiny. The potato salad was fresh from a can and the coleslaw was 50% fluid. The other meal was a loaded baked potato with hardly any meat on top. The pinto beans were so disgusting I wanted to scrape them out of my mouth. The young waitress was moving but the older woman just sat talking to another couple, eventually turning around to tell us that the other woman would take our order like we were in her way. It took a LONG TIME for lunch to appear. We will never return.

Got off the Interstate in Heiskell, Tennessee looking for some petro, and look what We stumbled across. We went in and had some of the best barbecue in these United States. We are from Las Vegas, and wish we could have taken some home. The owners welcomed us with open arms and showed us their smoker and shared their history. These were honest, hard working, REAL American folks. DON'T pass this place up!!!!! Your LOSS if you do.

No, no, no. The BBQ sauce seems to be primarily made from ketchup, which really surprised me! The macaroni tastes like it came straight out of a Kraft commercial. The baked beans are just okay, and the BBQ pork is tough, with ketchup as the sauce. You see the 3.5 stars here? Check out Coal Creek up the road—5 stars with 100 reviews. That’s no coincidence!
