Did a study abroad trip in Heidelberg this Summer for weeks and nearly every time the class went out for food or a beer it was here at the Weisser Stein. This was not only for the selection of beer and delicous food but...the ownership and staff. The owner, Patrick, is not only friendly but the epitome of hospitality in making us feel welcome and at home regardless of the fact that we were American. The staff was friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu for us. Ownership is excellent and restaurant atmosphere is not only relaxed but family friendly. Their outdoor seating in the summer is to die for.
The Weisser Stein has the best falafel burger I've had in Heidelberg! Not only that the owner Patrick is a really fun guy!
The food is great, the prices are great, and the staff and owner go above and beyond. My friends and I are visiting Heidelberg from the States, and have gone to this restaurant times already in our short stay. We plan to go back...more before leaving. Highly recommend.
Hello, we were there today and this gets my rating as the worst Greek restaurant in the Rhine-Neckar region. My bifteki was more bread than meat and very soggy, plus it was swimming in grease. Since we were there with the discount voucher booklet, the portions were significantly smaller than at the next table. My daughter had pork loin with spicy cheese; the meat wasn't cooked through and was very stringy and oily. My grandson's food was also very stringy and undercooked; he could barely bite it. To top it all off, he charged us for the two main courses and the children's meal using the discount voucher booklet. Outrageous! Furthermore, the waiter was very unkempt, smelled strongly of sweat, and was very unfriendly. The restrooms are freezing cold, and the drinks are overpriced: cola €5.50, water €4.00. We were there a year ago, also with the discount voucher booklet, and everything was great then. Now it's almost inedible. What a shame! We'll never go back.
