Hazel Community Cafe

We were in town for a family funeral and met up with a bunch of family members at Hazel's to have a cup of coffee. It was a good environment, the coffee was good, and the service was good. Definitely recommended if you find yourself in Oregon, Illinois.

We came here because I love trying local coffee bars. However, It was a mistake. The store was dead, and I had ordered 2 iced lattes. It took well over 15 minutes for me to receive 2 drinks while being the only person in the store. When I finally received my order, it was incorrect. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my order to be corrected. Or I thought it was corrected, I didn’t take a sip until I got to the car and only one of our drinks had a flavor to it and it wasn’t even a flavor I ordered. I was not about to wait another 15 minutes to possibly receive the wrong product again so we left. In the defense of the shop, the girl making it seemed to be new but was not getting the help she needed from the employees who had been there for longer. I may this place again, but I would likely just get a coffee from the bakery a little down the street.

Waitress was friendly, food was good, fries were crispy. Free dessert!

Love small town restaurants!! Especially Hazel where you feel like your surrounded by friends!

The Chicken Fried Steak was wonderful, enjoyed seeing some old friends we haven’t seen in a long time!!!
