Yum yum, was showed this place because of their fish pakora and I've been coming back for years whenever I'm in the Bay Area. I've order this at many other restaurants and nothing compares. They flavor is delicious, on the salty side but pairs well with the dipping sauce. It's alway hot and juicy. Portion is quite large, perfect to share with others for appetizer. The other Indian dishes we ordered were also very goo... View all feedback.
What Michael P doesn't like about Tandoor Indian:
The delivered food was way too spicy and when we called to make a comment they said we needed to ask for it mild. Normally this food is not cooked with this much spicy and their menu did not call it out as being spicy. When I pointed this out to them they hung up on me. Not once, but twice. This company not only produces food you can't eat, but their customer service is nonexistent. View all feedback.
As a person that generally doesn't have a lot of experience eating Indian food, Tandoor Restaurant served as a great introduction! My friend and I ordered a lot of food, we got the butter chicken, the tandoori chicken, an order of fish pakora, and two orders of naan! And for two hungry guys, there were still a lot of leftovers at the end of the meal.Without a doubt, the fish pakora was the real highlight of the meal. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the spices added really blended well with the crunchy and soft texture of the fish! The tandoori chicken was nice and juicy, and the butter chicken was decent as well. The naan I got here is the best naan I have ever experienced! It was buttery, garlicky, crispy and soft all at the same time! The only disappointing thing at Tandoor that I wouldn't recommend getting is the vegetable samosas, it was very underwhelming and found that even the frozen samosas from Costco were better. The service was quick and attentive, and this was overall a great experience.
Fast friendly most importantly delicious! Has been my go-to local spot for as long as I can remember!
None of us liked our food at this place.Let's start off with the fish pakoras. I recently read a review that the fish pakoras at this place are the best. I found them amongst one of the worst. The batter on the pakoras was very dark in colour and there was far more batter than fish. I felt as if they had been refried. I had 2 peices and left the rest. It would be better if you didn't use food colouring and kept the batter light and golden in colour with a dusting of ajwain. The Shish kebabs were very dry and the portion size was very small. The Shahi paneer was lacking one key ingredient chunks of paneer. It was almost as if the paneer had been minced for another dish and repurposed for the Shahi paneer dish. The sholay pooria were not very good. The pooria came out with a very wet texture and the Sholay seemed under cooked. I'm thinking it was a tinned chickpeas just coated in a curry base. The chicken tikka was not the best. I think I could get a microwave meal from the local supermarket that would taste better. In all the dishes I found the spice to be excessive. I'm used to eating spicy food but this was too much for me to handle. The garlic naan and rice were decent.
I wouldn't recommend this place, we asked for ice water and they said they only do water bottles, we said okay. We said we'll get the bottles water then but never brought it out, the food are super small portions.
Delicious Indian food, selection is smaller than Favorite Indian, but I like it better. To me, food and chai (included with the buffet) is better flavored here, and a little spicier.Update 3/10/23: Took a simple, late lunch of chicken curry and naan, and chai. Food is still very good, spiced perfectly, with a generous portion of chicken breast. Naan was heated and crisp on the outside, as it should be. Chai could have used a little more milk, but good. Service continues to be accommodating at this restaurant.
