What Tibor likes about Katalina's Island Grill:
Got there at 11 AM as per Apple Maps. They were not open but luckily the owner and her daughter were arriving and very graciously offered to put something together for me being a one time special visit coming from out of town. I ordered the chicken curry with rice and enjoyed the flavor. To specify what type of Polynesian cuisine they have, I inquired and learned they are Tongan. Katalina was very kind and courteous.... Poly Food Recommendations: I suggest trying the kale moa or sipi, as well as the sapa sui. The poly-style sipi tunu, which consists of baked or fried lamb shoulder pieces, is also worth a taste.
Areas for Improvement: The otai, Ota, and Lu dishes are just average. The ambiance tends to make me lose my appetite when dining here.
