J D's Country Style Chicken - Hays

My late husband and I used to eat there whenever we made it to Hays. Must say, the chicken the chicken fried steak are absolutely DELICIOUS. And yes, don't forget the pie.

Chicken was good but my salad had iceberg instead of romaine as listed on menu.

Great fresh fried chicken! Coleslaw was a little sweet for me but I enjoyed this charming little spot. Though a review here promised servers would be discussing death and funerals, was sorely disappointed and had only cheerful service. Be prepared to sit down and take a load off a while:

Food was really good. Wattres was really nice. Only down fall was we had to wait a little longer than expected to be waited on to be waited on.
