Yummy Chinese BBQ - Haymarket

I wouldn't bother. .. we went to this restaurant on a saturday night and it was only about 8pm.. there was barely anyone there.. but since the reviews wasn't bad I thought we'd try.. There wasn't much of anything there.. there was a small section which had the skewers.. but I thought it was ok.. nothing grand. Then we went to the salad bar .. and honestly there wasn't alot to choose from... Half of the thing that was meant to be there was never replenished.. ie: shallot pancake.. something so simple... but wasn't even there.. The fact of the matter is when you pay for something such as a buffet... you do expect everything to be there hot .. fresh and available... I find the lack of choices to be disappointing.. in my eyes it wasn't cheap .. $45 pp.. for 3 people .. we could have had a way better experience with better quality and choices... It's a shame.. The place is actually nice looking and way cleaner then most Asian restaurants... Unfortunately I feel like I would have been happier if I would have went somewhere else.. It wasn't worth the time or the money..

$40 a head and add $10 for unlimited tap beer. Located in Sydney’s China Town close to Darling Harbour up stars. Well worth considering. Good selection of buffet style meats, some sea food and various other dishes. Pretty good value really and the staff and overall service was quite good.

After searching throughout Chinatown for a buffet restaurant, we stumbled upon this gem and were delighted. This place is unlike your typical buffet spot - you sit at a table with hot rocks and a rotisserie in the center, as well as your own hot pot for cooking. You can help yourself to a variety of meats and fish on skewers to cook on the rotisserie or in the hot pot. There is a wide selection of meats, salads, spices, sauces, and even desserts to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed this unique and social dining experience. For two people, including beer, the total bill came to only 100 - a great deal considering the amount of food we devoured. We highly recommend checking out this place.

I was looking for a spot for dinner when we walked past Yummy BBQ. It looked interesting enough so we decided to try it. The restaurant is well laid out with a pretty decent range of food. Quite a number of different skewers for the BBQ and a smallish range of food for the hotpot. There was some hot food and a number of salads and cold foods. Overall, it was enjoyable. My only issue is I expected more range in the food for the price. At $45, it isn’t a budget BBQ and hotpot buffet and I expected a better range of food. When you compare it to something like Wagyu House in Surry Hills, it isn’t great value.

We decided to try the buffet and it did not disappoint. The flavors were decent and we also sampled some barbeque. Overall, it was an average dining experience.
