Not much of a place to look at, doesn't have all the posh trimmings but boy oh boy is the food true and authentic Thai street food that is awesome and very cheap!!!!!!! We had 3 courses for the 2 of us for $25. There...was plenty of food and the staff and service was 5 star. The name of this restaurant has changed and is now onkel tan’s. I have to be honest. this is not the best thai restaurant in this opposite, but it is still good. they serve beer from the hahn! yes! the staff is friendly and ordered...quick what makes it very good, is the young man at the front who has a take-away stack that serves the most amazing crepes at all! the crepps take one because they are too perfect, crispy and not burned. there is always a keyword. I can only recommend this restaurant.
At the weekend for lunch. that was not much chili or kick. my wife had a pad thai, that was terrible totally soggy with nowhere near enough fresh ingredients. the waitress could hardly speak English and get our order. the only positive was that they sell beer.
My friends and I decided to eat at Mommy's balls. I would describe this restaurant as quite average. there are a few tables to sit and everything is quite easy. we saw they offer lunch for $10. that includes a main dish and a coke can. my friend and I ordered a court with huh and the other one chose swarm. the girl who took our order was friendly and we waited 10min for our food. After we've eaten, we're gone right away, the place isn't so nice that you want to spend hours there. in the evening my friend and I really felt sick. we both complain about stomach pain and cramp. it was impossible to sleep because we poisoned food. after that I would not recommend mama chefs.
We solely came for the ice cream. Having read about this restaurant on a blog about must have desserts in Sydney we wanted to try out the rolled ice cream. It was fun to watch it being made and it was super tasty. If you...want a fun dessert I highly recommend stopping in. FYI you can 't stay if you only order dessert.
We come here around 5 times in the last 9 months. We've come as friends and as a couple. We love it Authentic Thai cuisine. Just like Thailand, The focus is on quality tasting food and not on expensive interior The best food we had...in Thailand was in people kitchens and it's the same here. Pad Thai and noodle soup are super tasty! They also have homemade gelato at the front of the store made using cream and ice. Ignore the long queue for the ice cream and head straight on in for the food BYO alcohol $2 pp
