What User doesn't like about Lymewood Farm:
My family went to a carvery today. My daughter requested gammon as they were out of the other options. We were told it would be ready in 5 minutes, but each time we asked, we were told it would be another 30 minutes. The rest of our party finished their meals and the gammon still wasn't ready. We had to ask for a refund and we won't be returning to this restaurant. View all feedback.
So we wait 50 minutes for 2 meals to arrive one being a kids pizza and one being a mixed grill I go and get a carvery. Notice theres more fat and grissle on the meat than actual meat.. I take it back and order Nachos (with just melted cheese on nothing else) and a garlic bread with cheese 15minutes later they both come only to find the nachos come with melted cheese..guacamole salsa and sour cream???????? So he takes them back and get them done again came back as I requested the first time, Off we go to get my sons ice cream which came with his tea only to find out they can only serve chocolate ice cream ???????????? I was sat looking at my garlic bread nachos thinking we should of gone somewhere else!!!
Fantastic family meal again,Can’t fault this place and the staff are great
Best carvery I’ve ever been ! Well worth going with children . They play area is great for them and child’s menu is good .
I would recommend it because the atmosphere and food is good and it’s ideal if staying at local hotels. However, and this is a big however, it’s supposed to open at 8am for breakfast. So we arrive at 8am. They’re still not set up and doors are still locked until 8:10am. We get in and the lovely young lad on the till (Jake) takes our order. We stayed at the Travelodge and so get 20% discount on production of room key. Jake needs a supervisor to authorise this so he goes to find her. She’s still strutting around with her jacket and bag on barking orders at everyone at 8:20; my guess is she was late. Jake asked her to authorise the discount to which she replied. “For god’s sake Jake I’m busy setting breakfast up.” Jake came back to the till, very apologetically to say he couldn’t put it through yet and we’d have to wait. Two minutes passed and she barked at Jake, “Put it through then” to which he told her it was Travelodge discount and he couldn’t. So she thrust her lanyard at him to do it himself. He didn’t know what to say. I never leave reviews really and it’s a really nice little pub and the staff are great; the reason for my review is that I know for a fact nothing will get said about said supervisor and young employees should not be treat the way she treat Jake, especially in front of customers. And finally, if a pub says it opens at 8, then it should be open at 8, not having people still setting up at 10 past. Maybe if the supervisors get in on time it would be fine ???? Thanks to the staff who worked Saturday evening and Sunday morning ???? see you next year
Bar staff don’t look at you and serve whoever’s nearest to them so they don’t have to move or make an effort to serve in order. Punters are the same push in, don’t care who’s been waiting ahead of them. About as welcoming as an abbatoir.
