東西非常好吃,價格合宜。 不過不會選擇在店裡吃、環境比較老舊沒關係、但是餐廳裡面有股味道、應該試著重現整理餐廳內部會更好。 View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about My Yen Chinese Restaurant:
The great food used to make up for the pretty average decor Went last month and it was direVegetables here use to be a feature but this was appalling. Clearly straight from the fridge into the microwave as the outside was hot and the centre coldThe salt & pepper squid was the dregs from the deep fat fryer and was a Mitchellin candidate.......that's the cross ply variety At least the Coopers ale was cold".......diffic... Ive been going to this restaurant for well over a decade now and it has always been constant. The duck dishes are always my favourite and there has never been a time where i can say the quality has not been there
We had booked a table and ordered special dishes ahead of time for a special occasion dinner on week night. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived, with the only other customers a family with children tucking into an early dinner, and a few tables of couples. As the night wore on, we ended up with the restaurant to ourselves. Despite the lack of customers dining in the restaurant, we noticed they did a roaring takeout trade. They're obviously very popular in the local area.Anyway, to the food. The off menu items we ordered were superb - a raw salmon tossed salad with large slices of melt in the mouth salmon and crunchy vegetables; stir fried lobster on a bed of noodles in a gingery, scallion-y sauce; and an earthy eel with preserved black beans. The menu items we picked a little hit and miss. The flash fried long beans with garlic was good though slightly oily. The slow cooked pork hock with seaweed was lovely, very tender and redolent with soy and spices. The Chinese roast duck was very ordinary. The sweet and sour pork was a complete let down. I like sweet and sour pork, but the pieces I picked were all fatty and tough in a thick, gluggy batter. We'll give the pork and duck a miss the next time we are there.
