The service was excellent. The servers were all attentive and polite. The food however wasn't as great as all the reviews said. We had the salmon special, chicken parm and pasta carbonara. The pasta was the best. I wouldn't say this is a must do in old San Juan. View all feedback.
What Kelo Santiago doesn't like about Al Dente:
Went with my Mom and we have to wait for 39 minutes until finally our shrimp pasta and veal risotto came out. Food was room temperature -COLD! ! There is no way we can eat that. It's a shame. View all feedback.

Great food and quiet atmosphere. The staff were very nice and helpful. Eric waited on me and he was charming, funny, informative, and quite attractive!
The Gnocchi was superb, so was the bruschetta we had for starter.
I went for takeout and ordered a special it was gnocchi with caramelized onions and prosciutto, it was really good. My only vad comment is that it felt a little overpriced. The portion was like a cup and it cost $22.00. So I will go back someday on a very special ocassion.
My post comes a few months after eating with my family at this establishment. The service was outstanding and the food was as advertised. Al Dente has the reputation of being among the best dining experiences in San Juan. If you are visiting or livening in PR, you should know dining experience on this island is part of the culture, attraction and a strategic component of its tourism product. Al Dente should be at the top of your list for experiential dining in PR. Enjoy!
