Siam 2 - Hastings

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. The decor is both beautiful and authentic. However, what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional and friendly service. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make a birthday celebration extra special. We only wish this restaurant was closer to us so we could dine there more often. This place is truly a hidden gem in Hastings!

My spouse and I enjoyed a delightful dinner at this restaurant on August 4th. Despite its small size, the venue had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The meal was exquisite, with the red curry and fish being standout dishes. Additionally, the staff graciously accommodated our dietary restrictions. We will definitely be back for another meal when we are in the area again.

We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate us without a reservation after a 20-minute wait. However, that was the extent of my satisfaction. The server was overly enthusiastic and seemed to not listen to our requests. The man accompanying her rushed her away a few times, which seemed unprofessional and made it appear that they found us to be an inconvenience. Despite clarifying our need for vegan options when ordering, my soup arrived with both chicken and prawns. Additionally, I had requested it to be slightly hotter than mild but not too spicy. Fortunately, I eat meat and enjoy spicy food, but I was disappointed that I was not informed before offering a taste to my vegan partner. The rest of the meal was delicious, but I would have complained if I was unable to eat it. The guests next to us also had to return a meat dish as they were vegetarian. It appears that accommodating vegetarians and vegans is challenging for this Thai restaurant, which should not be the case. The meal also seemed a bit pricey for what we received. The young waitress who served our table was very kind, but overall, I am glad we tried it once but would not return.

I have been to many Thai restaurants, but Siam 2 surpasses them all. The staff was lovely and attentive. The food was incredible and clearly prepared with care. The entire evening was delightful, and we will certainly return.

Siam 2 is a fantastic authentic Thai restaurant located in the heart of Hastings. After recently visiting Bangkok, we were in search of a Thai restaurant that could match the quality of the food we had experienced there. We stumbled upon Siam 2 by chance and were warmly greeted by the owners. We started with the herbal spring rolls, which were delicious, and then enjoyed a seafood hotpot that was flavorful and generous with seafood. For dessert, we had fried banana and ice cream, which was also very good. The owners were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we had a great dining experience. We highly recommend Siam 2.
