Simply the best fish and chips I've ever tasted in Hastings or anywhere along the South Coast, complemented by a stunning view of the fishing boats and the canal. The succulent, freshly caught cod (with other options and a daily special) was perfectly cooked, accompanied by bright, crispy golden batter made from Maggie's secret family recipe, and fluffy, flavorful chips that melted in my mouth. What Graeme Miller doesn't like about Maggie's Fish Chips:
We were in Hastings on holiday from the north east and had read good reviews about maggies being the best so thought we would give it a try what I found was very overpriced disappointing food ,chips frozen fish cake has plenty carrots and little fish plus £7 for a tiny fish cake is a disgrace. Fish on the small side and very little taste. I would avoid at all costs. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person... View all feedback.
We have table for two, although we do not book. very busy small place. beautiful view on beach and fishing boats. excellent service. squeal and muddy. good amount of chips beautiful light battery on fish that was white and very fleshy. excellent. bowl with muddy heap homemade and enough for 3/4 people. will definitely come back when next to in hastings and recommend to friends. will make sure that the table is booked to avoid disappointment
Fabulous fish and chip served by great staff. Loved the selection of fish we chose to share between 3 of us...and the homemade tartar sauce... yum! Very recommend. X
Definitely the best Fish n Chips in Hastings! I had a super piece of cod with the best cooked chips I’ve had in a long time! The service from all of the staff was exemplary- thank you so much all of you!
Lovely, cute little fish and chip restaurant. Had booked a table, which i think was necessary as it was very busy. Very tasty fish and chips served in good time. The only down side is that they only take cash, so if your not aware of this beforehand can cause a bit of a problem!!
After the service in St Clements where we said a fond farewell to the one and only, 'luvvley Pearl Olsen, I took a stroll down to Rock a Nore and eventually ducked out of the constant drizzle and into Maggies. A warm welcome and a catch up with the ever smiley Rachel later, I was served up with a massive portion of cod and chips, freshly cooked by Maggie 's granddaughter no less. Gazing out over the beach while I steadily demolished my fish and chips definitely brightened up my day!
