I had some incredible ice cream here after having fish and chips at another place. The flavors were delicious and could easily compete with Di Pola's nearby. My favorite was the pecan butter Mr Whippy, it was so tasty. The kids loved their Ferrero Rocher and toffee flavors as well. The prices were reasonable too. What Roger C doesn't like about Beach Retreat Fish And Chips:
On a visit to Hastings we wanted to have the typical norm, Fish Chips. We went to the Beach Retreat as its close by the beach and sea. Trip advisor rated it highly but ours wasn't. It was awful. We went to the beach to eat ours but it was that bad I would have been ashamed to give it to the gulls. Excellent service and attention to detail, we felt that the staff member Emily welcomed us like guests and cared about our experience.
Had great sandwiches and a lovely cup of tea. The cakes were excellent as well. Service was polite and efficient. All in all and very nice surprise.
Such a joy to pop in to this café a few times a week, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Thank you Beach retreat, made my day.
There something about these Fish and Chips that just hits a spot. I had it from the takeaway window and sat out on the beach as it was so nice. Excellent and my go-to place if I’m down here!
