What RJ Whyte doesn't like about Schoolhouse Scoop:
The restaurant is not easily accessible for wheelchair users. They do not have a traditional menu, just a large chalkboard. While I understand the schoolhouse theme, it would be helpful to have a simple menu listing the flavors and compositions of their ice cream. It would also be beneficial to include a brief description of why people should choose to eat there. Instead of offering organic, hand-scooped, locally sou... View all feedback.
The banana ice cream at this restaurant is the best I've ever tasted. The portion sizes are generous.
I recently visited this restaurant with my wife and son. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by friendly smiles, a wonderful atmosphere, and refreshing air conditioning. Meghan assisted me in selecting the Brownie S'more flavor, and I must say, it was the most delicious ice cream I have ever tasted! Thank you!
If you are looking for a flavor adventure in your dessert experience, Schoolhouse Scoop is a place to try. They do ice cream, simple as that, but the combinations you can enjoy changes day to day and you can try a bite of another flavor with the extracredit they offer. For me being a dark chocolate lover, their Zanzibar is the best and hard to beat. Located on the main roadHwy 61 through Hastings, it 's an easy place to access for a special treat. I hope you find something fun to enjoy!
Instead of offering organic, hand-scooped, locally sourced options, they simply offer really good ice cream. I found it difficult to determine the flavors based on their names alone and was persuaded to purchase a multiple scoop combination when all I wanted was a chocolate shake. I am not trying to criticize a new business, just sharing my experience and thoughts.
School House Scoop is my favorite ice cream shop when I want to indulge myself in a creamy, flavorful, pick of whatever you want assortment of ice cream choices. They offer the standard assortment of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry to the extreme flavorsranging from decadent chocolate, bubble gum and birthday cake for the kiddies , cheesecake varieties, extreme strawberry, raspberry swirl, pistachio walnut, assortment of sherbets, to my favorite, coconut explosion. You have several choices oftoppings and can have your pick of the day on either a regular waffle cone, chocolate dipped waffle cone or in a cup as Ido. This wonderful little gem of a ice cream shop will not only titillate your taste buds but cool you off on a hot summers day!
