Reviews - The Odd Cod
Reviews summary
A recent visit to a local fish and chips shop revealed a stark divide in customer experience. While some patrons enjoyed well-cooked fish and generously portioned chips with delightful flavor, others expressed disappointment over small servings and burnt batter. Rising prices have coincided with diminished portion sizes, leaving many feeling shortchanged. Mixed service efficiency added to the frustration, as incorrect orders plagued the experience. Decades of loyalty from some customers now waver, highlighting the inconsistencies in quality and value. For those seeking reliable fish and chips, it may be worth exploring alternative options in the area.

Flipping heck I know times are hard for us all but this is beyond a joke, ordered a large chips, well was amazed at the tiny portion we received, approx 12 chips. You can't shove your prices up and then cut the portion down too. This was second visit in 3 years, first time didn't learn my lesson but definitely won't be back again, mean with the portion and total rip off!!!
The two corned beef patties had soggy batter and appeared to have been reheated. The order of large chips only contained 8 chips. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Great fish good chips, good range sausage large or small, patties, burgers. proper fish and chip shop, good staff
The staff are efficient but seem more focused on getting customers in and out quickly rather than providing a welcoming experience. The food was overly greasy and the chips had burnt bits on them. I don't plan on returning as I felt the quality of the food and service did not justify the price.

Wonderful people and delicious fish and chips. I recommend ts for everyone because it is really delicious.
My wife and I have been buying fish and chips from this load for over 50 years. they were always the best we ever tasted, and especially the fish. They do not cook in oil and that also makes a difference. we do not live in hard pool now, but when we visit related we buy f and c and sit in the car around the corner from the shop and eat them
