I really enjoy this Mexican restaurant more than others I've tried. Their Nacho Supreme is fantastic and definitely one of my favorite dishes. My family often opts for the Taco Meal, which is always fresh and delicious. The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and well-organized, and the atmosphere is delightful. View all feedback.
Although the restaurant is a hole in the wall, the food was fresh, tasty and generous. The service was quick and friendly. I went on an early weekend night and had no problem finding a table, but at the time I left, all the tables were full and the people were waiting for place. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu!
Authentic Mexican perfection! With all the wonderful memories we come with our grandmother, as well as the quality of food and the friendly, welcoming owner, this is one of our favorite restaurants in all Connecticut! I love the enchiladas oaxaceñas. The mole sauce is the best I’ve had in the northeast. The tortilla soup and aqua frescas are delicious. Everyone working here is very nice. I’ve been here many times and it is always consistent and never disappointing :
We love Monte Alban! We order here almost every week. Try the nacho supreme with chicken, it’s one of our favorites! We also love their tamales. For something more filling order a dish with shrimp and steak together. Support our local Hartford businesses!
Monte Alban's 3 Enchilada plate (called Enchilada Huertenas), is one of the most delicious entrees you will ever eat.. anywhere (No joke)!! The head chef is a true artist. The food is subtle, perfectly spiced, and the best Mexican food I've ever had. Even the salsa that they give you with chips at the beginning of the meal is crazy fresh and so tasty (homemade), and beautifully delicate. Alphonso (the owner), and his brother the head chef really know what they are doing. My wife and I love Mexican food, and have eaten at numerous top level Mexican restaurants in NYC and we like Monte Alban more than any of them. Place is super clean, and the food is so authentic and fresh. Do try the 3 Enchilada plate with the 3 different sauces. You'll see what I mean. #bigrespect PS: Important: Do not trust some of the negative reviews here. Some people just like to spread discontent. Not a good thing.
