Contribute Feedback What Tammy J likes about Monte Alban:
Outstanding food, salsa is excellent. Small place but very clean. Friendly staff, large clean bathroom. We had tacos with rice and beans, I had al pastor, husband had chicken. All were delicious. Parking could potentially be an issue, we happened to park on a side street directly beside the restaurant and it was fine but there are signs and a map inside telling you where to park to avoid being towed. What Faria Madhumita doesn't like about Monte Alban:
We went their last year after hearing the good reviews. We were expecting some authentic Mexican food. Ordered two take outs, there were no customers and still it took them a long time to get the food ready. Also, the portion was way too small compared to other Mexican restaurants and the take out food prep was poor too! We did not like the customer service as she was unfriendly. We really wanted to like the place. N... View all feedback.
Rancho veijo is better but this is sooo buss I want it all in my mouth
A family type place, though I've only seen adults since we usually eat a little late in the evening, but it's a comfy casual small restaurant for about 30-40 people max, that should appeal to everyone who appreciates good home-style cooking. Lots of choices, from tacos to sophisticated fish entrees, and the best guacamole around. Small friendly staff and the owner gets to know all us regulars and will stop to chat and ask how you are. I would recommend this little place to anyone who really wants good food.... and don't miss the mole'. I see a lot of take-out going out the door, too, so it should fit anyone's plans.Vegetarian options: Not my choices, I'm a carnivore, but I know they're on the menu and would be just as delicious as everything else I eat.Kid-friendliness: Casual place certainly welcomes kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Maybe it's a tight fit going inside because it's just a glass door and a little wall to move past but unless the chair is really big it should be doable. There's no step or real barricade. My walker manages just fine. There's always take-out if someone finds it awkward. There are several tables in the center so a booth isn't a deal breaker.
Great option for Mexican food. Can't believe how close this is to home but I never knew it existed. Enjoyed the nachos grande and enchiladas. We'll be back.
Delicious food and huge servings. I enjoyed the mole enchiladas. The service was friendly and quick, too!
This has been our favorite Mexican Resturant in the Hartford area for two decades. Authentic, can't get enough of the mole.
