Majorca is a relatively new restaurant serving mediterranean fare- but in particular tapas. The food is very good, the service is earnest but needs some work. It 's great fun to be able to sample several different dishes and share with the entire table. though I 'd suggest to the restaurant that serving some dishes that are clearly portioned such as albondigas as 3 pieces makes it awkward to share for the typical tab... What User doesn't like about Majorca:
this place was formerly excellent, maybe they had a bad night, but eating was nowhere near as good as in past. the service was friendly and our server was excellent, but the kitchen made a mistake to deliver our salat and our dinner at the same time. View all feedback.
Stopped in around 5pm pre-movie for some cocktails/tapas. No one else was there. Staff were attentive, but it was said as we were heading out around 6:30 that only 4 or 5 tables were being used. Their tapas happy hour specials were nice they make a decent cocktail, but the atmosphere was pretty quiet to be honest.
Interesting dishes, well-prepared and reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful service. Very welcome addition to Hartford scene.
Majorca specializes in small plates – a little larger, in our experience, than Spanish tapas (e,g, three medium meatballs not two). Two of us were happily filled up with five orders, which with one sangria came to exactly $50. The main courses, which we didn't try, looked and smelled quite good; we'll likely order the short ribs (eaten with gusto at the table next to us) next time.
Great tapas, nice atmosphere, easy on and off freeway. Took family prior to night out and it was perfect. Will gladly return with family or wife alone prior to show in Hartford or any occasion.
Tapas ingredients sounded good on the menu, but were lacking in flavor and spice. Many plates were bland and/or the flavors didn't blend well together. Service was good, but couldn't make up for the boring dishes.
