Great place to be later on a Friday night! Servers were friendly and the food was delicious: we had the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese sauce and it really hit the spot. Friday nights they have a really fun karaoke show that is not to be missed. I love this bar! View all feedback.
What Carol Kissinger doesn't like about Buckaroos Grill:
We visited this restaurant for the first time last Friday evening with two guests. Unfortunately, we were disappointed when we found out that they no longer served mac and cheese. Additionally, they were out of sweet potato fries and wedges. My husband ended up ordering perch, which were very small. I had to share my cod with him. The lake perch, which was described as looking like small smelt, had excessive breading that fell off easily when touched. The accompanying chips were okay, and the small amount of cabbage in the tartar sauce cup was pink but lacked visible red cabbage. The cod was also just okay. I regret not speaking up regarding the red potatoes, as they were diced extremely small and mixed with burnt diced onions, making them unrecognizable as potatoes. Upon realizing that we had not been served bread or mac cheese, I flagged down a male employee working in the bar area. He explained that the distributor had not delivered bread that day, and they had not served mac cheese for some time. When questioned about why these items were still on the menu without any mention of their unavailability, we simply received a "sorry" in response. The wait staff should have informed us of the unavailable items when we were seated. There was no discount offered, and it was clear that the restaurant could benefit from a better distributor. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
The quality of the food was disappointing as well. On the short drive home, I found that the fries were cold, the fancy chips were undercooked, the frozen mini tacos did not come with the sour cream I ordered, and the mini chicken tenders were not up to par. The Walmart brand cheese logs were the only decent part of the meal, but overall, it was not worth the high price. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Additionally, they were out of sweet potato fries and wedges. My husband ended up ordering perch, which were very small. I had to share my cod with him. They also informed us that they had run out of rye bread. Despite the good food, we were surprised by the lack of availability of certain items, especially considering it was early in the evening (5:15 p.m.). My husband and I probably won't be returning. P.S. To the owner, we were told there was no rye bread, and we have three other witnesses to confirm this!
I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone who is a biker, as they will be asked to leave. Additionally, if someone is considering working there, they should be prepared for possible mistreatment from the owner who may not pay them what they are owed. The owner has a history of failed bars, including Buckaroos, and struggles to keep the business running smoothly.
If you are searching for a restaurant that treats you like family with warm hospitality, this is the place to be! They exceeded expectations for our birthday party with excellent communication.
