Contribute FeedbackThe De Havilland Arms offers a mix of experiences, ranging from disappointing service to excellent food. Issues with staffing and attention were noted by some diners, while others praised the delicious meals served hot and with generous portions. The recent refurbishment was met with mixed reviews, with some enjoying the more open atmosphere and others feeling it detracted from the traditional charm. Overall, the restaurant seems to be a hit or miss depending on the experience of each individual visit. Despite some shortcomings, many patrons found the menu options appealing and tasty, making it worth a visit for those seeking familiar, comforting food.
Recently visited De havilland Arms for my birthday. Hadn’t been before but it looked so appealing in the online photos and the menu covered every option I was looking for. I was extremely happy we went here. I had the Sunday roast beef and hubby had a burger. Both were delicious, reasonably priced and service was excellent. The pub has a lovely cosy feel, mixing traditional and modern. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Went on a Sunday afternoon so it was very busy but managed to get a lovely table away from the noisy bar area full of families with lots of children. We had the roasts which were good and plentiful but service was lacking due to it being busy I guess. Ordered garlic bread to start which for some reason came with the mains. Sent it back and were not charged for it but what a silly mistake. Have been here before and enjoyed it and will go again im sure as food and service is normally good.
The Sunday roast was very enjoyable with plenty of vegetables and all the trimmings that you would expect
Booked in advance to ensure we had a table for our ‘friends get together’ Glad I did as it was very busy. Slightly disappointed with the size of the table we were allocated as initially it was required for 5 people but we had a table for 4 with an added chair put to the end. We did end up as a 4 which was just as well otherwise the table would have been quite snug with all the plates. Apart from that, lovely service, food was enjoyable and we had a good evening.
Unfortunately a fryer was broken therefore that reduced the menu, the two fish pies ordered were burnt and fish off and the steak was tough and not well cooked. Apologies were made but no offer of a bill reduction of any sort. We will not be returning.
