the place was completely renovated and I must say it is amazing! it is super clean and the ambiente here is perfect! each of the employees here are super polite and helpful. it is one of these rare cases where I really feel looked around. the burgers here are so good I think it is the best in london along with the loaded french! one teller is enough for two people! Probably early days. Would have liked a 'traditional ' beef roast but found the combination of meats strange. The portion was very large for the plate. Gravy would have been better served separately. Pigs in blankets were too large and looked quite pale. Food was tasty though. View all feedback.

Very nice pub! Screens for football, nice music in the background, clean, warm and peaceful. Close to the station too, which could be an advantage for people visiting the area. Thanks guys!
We came in for Sunday lunch on 3rd March. The Sunday Roast is so good can compare to one by the countryside and such a good price! We were served by Sky she is so helpful, friendly and smiling away! Would definitely recommend to anyone we seem to be here most weeks at the moment and back on Mother's Day! Thanks Sky for being so hospitable. See you all soon.
Lovely service , Skye is a friendly and very helpful server . Great selection of Sunday roasts well priced . And very clean and comfortable pub .
Today, my mom and I enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day set meal at The Star. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The 3-course meal was a great deal. Although some of our drinks took a bit long to come out, overall the service was prompt. Skye, our server, was friendly and attentive.

We arrived a bit early but our table was already prepared. Good quality crackers! It was a surprise to find there was live music, and the pub was beautifully decorated. The service was VERY efficient, friendly and seamless, THANK YOU. The food was delicious, and served well timed. A few room for improvement comments there seemed to be a mix up with how many deserts had been ordered ie only one desert....and despite only one being served, 2 appeared on the bill! Also the mince pie served had part of the pastry missing. This was pointed out but the mince pie was not replaced, for a complete one.....hence the food not getting Outstanding . And the pub had run out of NZ Sauvignon blanc, but the House white was very drinkable! Music did get louder at one point which made it very difficult for us to talk!! But over all we had a great time, and would definitely recommend and go again. Thanks to all the staff and the chef!

Excellent sunday roast, good variety of trimmings, nothing microwaved, all fresh and piping hit, good portions. Excellent service. We will be back. Only quibble was music bit loud maybe have it turned down in some sections of pub. Other than that, great!
Visited on Saturday for dinner. Ordered hamburger platter. Food, service and atmosphere were fine. Booked a 6pm reservation for Sunday (Father’s Day). Arrived at 6pm, seated promptly, ordered drinks, starter main course. Drinks were severed promptly and that’s when our experience went down hill. Inquired a few times regarding starter, 45 minutes later starter was delivered. Spoke with manager regarding our main course, was told waitress was new (however, she did write down our order correctly) unfortunately it did not come out correctly (main was ordered without gravy and cooked medium). It came well done covered with gravy. Ordered desert which never arrived. I know it was Father’s Day, however the restaurant was not even 1/2 occupied and we spoke with manager regarding our issues with starter, main and inexperienced waitress and still had issues.
From time to time we eat at this local pub. So far always found the food excellent and lots of dishes to choose from. The staff are very friendly and makes you very welcome. I trust that they will continue with these high standards.

Clean and well maintained pub, with good beer and eating. can become cold when the door remains open by the customers
Eating the music and the whole vibe is excellent. definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy qualitatiw high quality food with even better quality entertainment!
Had a great night in The Star. Watched the boxing, there are many screens so brilliant for sports. Also a great band on before and after the boxing which really made a ‘night’ out. Staff are friendly with quick service and good food. I would recommend The Star, definitely going again!
