The food was fab , very helpful , desert ,was wow fab , we got served by the big boss jack , we al chatting about old times ., can't wait to back 10out 10

I heard many great things about this place. it won a few awards and has a lot of praise from people I know, not too far from the train station. there is a take-off section and eat in the section of the restaurant. does not look so much from the outside. I felt like I went to a chic restaurant when I made foot in the restaurant. great ambiente and atmosphere. hand painting fish and crab art on the walls. Very good. in the restaurant there is color. the staff was great and polite. very helpful and attentive. Between us we had variou... read more Skipjacks has been a Family favourite for years where the staff are friendly. This time we returned for family reunion and celebration. Between us we had various kinds fish and chips including Plaice Fillet coated in matzah meal, Fish Kebabs, and chips with sides of peas, mushy peas and salads. Served with the Chips big and chunky. The mushy peas are traditional. The salad is rough cut nothing delicate. This is traditional, old school Fish Chips done well. Accept that and you'll have a great meal.

So when we reali... read more Found Skipjacks through the National Federation of Fish Fryers directory and saw that they had a quality mark for award winning fish and chips. So when we realised we could come home from a trip out via here we stopped off and wasn’t disappointed. They have a takeaway and a restaurant, which is decorated in a very traditional way. So when you order your food it comes fresh from next door. The chips were done perfectly and the Cod was incredible, perfectly cooked and beautiful large flakes of fish on the plate. We also ordered childrens portion of fish fingers and chips, which was above what we would expect to pay for a toddler portion £9.90) however their ‘fish fingers’ was again beautiful white fish accompanied by their chips. The quality here is miles above what you see from the majority of fish and chip shops in cornwall, and of the high standard you might see next to the sea somewhere like cornwall. If however they wanted to elevate themselves they could make their own tartare sauce and not charge £2.65 for a cup of tea! But that’s the only things. If a competitor reads this and wants to know how to compete, so some courses with the national federation of fish fryers and you won’t go wrong. Worth travelling to eat.

Now I know why, cod normally thick white and flaky , instead of browny mushy meat with very fishy smell I don’t think it is real cod) chips ok though.
