We were only there for a drink but the member of bar staff was welcoming, chatty and fast with the service. All the interior decor is clean and modern but the garden is a wonderful space. Although no one else was sat there, the sound of running water in the pond is relaxing and it feels like living in your own country manor! Plenty of seating and tables suitable for groups are also present. It’s not the cheapest of pubs but for a more special occasion I’d certainly return.

We stayed for one night one our way north recently. A spacious comfortable double room with dual aspect windows an amazing “drench” shower with bags of space and a very comfortable bed. Dinner was equally good and some very good cheffing at breakfast by Chef Jenny (her home made hollandaise was perfect on the eggs royal and florentine) set us up the day ahead perfectly. Friendly attentive service held the whole thing together. Certainly a place we shall return to when in the Harrogate area.

There were a variety of vegan options available for each course, and I thoroughly enjoyed my butternut squash pizza with rocket and cous cous. The blackcurrant mousse for dessert was also excellent.
