What NRD522 doesn't like about Imperial Chinese:
The prices at this restaurant are quite high, the service was okay, but the food was definitely cheaper in quality. It used to be a favorite of mine, but I will now explore other restaurants. I was not very impressed, and unless other restaurants are worse, I will not be returning. Before Covid, this was the best, but it is not anymore. View all feedback.
We decided to go out for a late evening meal on Sunday night. When I say late I mean 20:50 arrival at restaurant time. Before ordering a taxi to the restaurant I checked their opening times online and saw that they were open until 22:30. We then arrived to be told the two of us were unable to dine as they were not taking any more customers. There were already some diners inside the restaurant and I explained to the chap behind the bar that it says online that they are open until 22:30 but he just started telling me that the kitchen will be unhappy if he sits us down?!! From a hospitality point of view this is just really not very good! I have been to this restaurant before and it is a half decent all you can eat Chinese if that's what you fancy. The staff have been frankly quite rude in the past though and this shows that this is still the case as other reviews here also suggest. I am reasonable and would not turn up 15 minutes before a restaurants closing time expecting to be seated like many do as I appreciate staff want to finish and they close the restaurant. But anything over half an hour before closing time should be acceptable let alone 1.5 hours plus!! Perhaps they ought to change their closing times to 21:00 on a Sunday evening? Or Perhaps just avoid this one!
If you like Chinese food, this is the Place to go.the food is excellent and delicious.the service is outstanding. It's definitely worth the visit.
I work in a residential facility for individuals with visual impairments and learning difficulties. The meal at this restaurant was just okay, nothing exceptional. However, as we were ordering a taxi, we were informed that we had to vacate our table and wait outside. Seven blind residents with learning difficulties and only two carers were practically forced to leave the premises. It was a chilly evening and we had to stand outside on their doorstep for 20 minutes. We spent over £200 only to be told to stand in the cold. Our residents were not pleased with this treatment. For ethical reasons, I urge other readers to avoid this restaurant. I personally will not be patronizing them again.
My group of 6 visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening to try the all-you-can-eat menu. We were seated promptly and our drinks were brought to us quickly. The food was decent overall, with some dishes being better than others, but it was definitely worth the price. The service was good and efficient, although it felt a bit rushed at times. I would consider returning in the future.
