Visited at 8pm, 05/03, table for two. The food was absolutely amazing. Salmon pate starter and 10oz sirloin for me, mussels and Nidderdale trout for my partner. The pate was absolutely superb (actual pieces of salmon in there, too! And the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mussels were the best i 've ever had (and he has them a lot! , and the trout was perfect! Very fairly priced given the quality of food... View all feedback.
The Drum and the Monkey is an outstanding establishment in Harrogate. The lovely owner greets you right at the entrance. The menu features a fantastic selection of fresh seafood and other dishes. I highly recommend the king scallops served with cauliflower purée—they're exquisite. The hake and halibut are also delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. If you're planning another trip to Harrogate, be sure to eat here again. If you enjoy fish, this place is a must-visit!
This is an intimate restaurant that I highly recommend. We tried the fish soup and the hot seafood plate, both of which were incredibly delicious. While it is on the pricey side, it's definitely worth it for a special meal. I recommend making a reservation to avoid any disappointment.
While the recommendation was to pair my meal with white fish wine, I opted for red instead, and it was also excellent. The service was great, and although the place was small, it was charming and clean, with a lovely view from the front window. If you enjoy seafood, I highly recommend Drum and Monkey!
