Mugg Bean - Harrismith
Mugg Bean
Description
This popular café is praised for friendly, attentive staff, quick service, comfortable air‑conditioned seating and a strong breakfast and lunch menu with vegetarian options and baked treats. However, kitchen inconsistencies — including cold or undercooked dishes, occasional order mistakes and a reported fly issue — undermine otherwise solid service. It’s a welcoming spot for breakfasts or relaxed lunches, but would benefit from improved quality control and hygiene.

Stopped by on 20 October 2024 at the takeout to grab a few takeaway drinks and the person at the counter didn't have a clue on how to ring up the order of a rooibos tea and bottled water. She called twice for a gentleman who seemed more preoccupied with chatting up the chefs preparing the food behind the counter. Even after two attempts to assist the teller, she still did not manage to process my order. After about 8 minutes of standing there and not getting any help I eventually gave up went to the Wimpy next door where my order was processed in under 30 seconds. Imagine if the store was busy with this inexperienced teller not being able to assist patrons with their orders! Such a bad advert for otherwise top brand!
