This place is not messing around with anything. This is a top flight restaurant. It's a place for a special occasion. Take your own bottle of wine if you want as they only serve pop and coffee. The grounds are something to see, so plan on a half hour for that. While we ate peacocks roamed around outside the windows. It's truly a great experience and a gem of a place for Michigan. What Christy Wiechert doesn't like about The Royal Eagle Fine Dining:

I am beyond delighted with the delicious and beautiful vegan food at a Christmas tea at Royal Eagle which is on the grounds of St. Sabbas Orthodox Monastary. The napkins, which I loved, were folded by the monks. There is a requirement for modest dress as it is a monastary.

We don't mind paying high prices for great food. Unfortunately this was not the case. We went for the smoke house meats. It was way too salty. My husband sausage board was almost not edible chewy, salty and hard. His cut of prime rib was dried out. The apple strudel was burned on the bottom and the apple filling must have evaporated. The tea was great and the napoleon was the highlight of the meal. We spent a lot of money here. I'm glad it went to support the monastery. If you are going to commend high prices quality of the food should follow.
