Jay's does it all, from a charming cafe during the day to an exquisite dining experience at night. We initially visited for brunch and were so impressed that we had to return for dinner to sample the new menu crafted by Head Chef Seb. The service was attentive yet not overbearing, and the food was outstanding. Chef Seb deserves all the credit for creating a menu that truly delights. Having dined in numerous London restaurants, discovering Jay's right in my neighborhood was a real stroke of luck.

We ordered... read more Upon arriving we were seated at a table to the rear of the restaurant right by the door to the kitchen and the toilets which had a busy thoroughfare. We ordered fairly promptly and the starters were served within an acceptable amount of time. Each was presented nicely and were most enjoyable which proved promising for a restaurant that we had not eaten at before. Then came the main courses which were a completely different story. The ribs which 2 diners had ordered were served simply with a pool of bbq sauce sitting in the middle of each rack. The chicken skewers in short were uncooked, lacked any substantial flavour and were full of water! This dish was returned and a replacement was refused! We informed the waitress when she questioned the enjoyment of our meal that it was not good for which she apologised. The chicken dish was removed from the bill and apologies offered. We would not recommend or return to this local restaurant.
