What User doesn't like about The Leaf Sports Pub:
I recently had a meal at this restaurant that left me feeling very uncomfortable in my lower body. I don't want to go into specifics about what I ate, but it seemed like it was a leftover burger. View all feedback.
Just in for a quick bite and to use their internet. Both went well.
Great fish and chips special quick service hot food
What a nice find. In a renovated train station. Period decor inside. Beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the forest. Has a couple tv screens. Beer on tap. Has a restaurant and a pub side. Clubhouse sandwich was top notch with nice salad. They have a large menu. Great place to stop for a drink or a meal!
While in Hardisty, AB it was recommended I check out The Leaf. The location looks as though it was an old train station at one time judging by the style of structure. The restaurant is divided into two parts the lounge/sports bar and the family restaurant. The sections are sufficiently separated to prevent sound from the lounge to bother those in the restaurant area. The decor is rustic with a lot of wood and and even a large fireplace in the restaurant side. The lounge section was fitted with various sports memorabilia and props. The menu is loaded with choices from standard pub food and pizza to wraps and burgers. They even have a couple steak choices if that's what you're in the mood for. I had the Chesterfield chicken sandwich and enjoyed it, but not as much as I enjoyed the 40 Creek BBQ burger. That's a tasty burger. If you like poutine you're in luck because they're very generous with their servings. So if you're ever in Hardisty, Alberta and are feeling a bit hungry and looking for a place to watch the game stop in.
I went to the Leaf recently for a surprise birthday party. The restaurant was great in accommodating us; they set up a reservation for 20 and even brought the birthday girl a special drink. The food was great, the staff was excellent, and it was a great atmosphere. The prices were totally comparable to prices you would find in similar sports bars or pubs. The only downside to a visit to the Leaf is the heating/cooling system...or lack thereof. It was fairly cool outside for once, but the inside of the restaurant was sweltering. Even before our full party arrived, people were uncomfortably warm. Once we were all there, it was barely bearable. We were using the table's napkins to dry our foreheads and faces, we were sweating so much. It seems so odd that a place like this wouldn't have some sort of AC system to keep temperatures in check. I know when we escaped outside at the end of the night it was liberating. It was the only downside of the evening; we would come again, but maybe not in such a big group because of how hot it was inside.
