Well, I must have struck it lucky because I thought this place was very good, as far as the restaurant (didn 't stay at the hotel)! I had the homemade fish cakes and the Newfoundland 'pancake ', and both were excellent. The wait for my breakfast was long, only because there was a large group of church ladies being served and only one waitress, but it wasn 't too bad. What Ružena Cyprich doesn't like about Hotel Harbour Grace:
Although I did not stay at the hotel, I did have breakfast at the restaurant. I probably would not have considered going there if it were not for a recommendation. The breakfast portion was generous and reasonably priced. The service was excellent! While the restaurant may not have the most attractive appearance, the food was delicious. View all feedback.
Good place if you like fish. Newfoundland dishes like fish brewis available here. The fries are delicious. The only problem we had was that one of our group wanted pea soup for starters but instead of bringing that out first they brought the soup out with the main dish but that is the first time that had happened to her at this resteraunt. It is nothing fancy but if you want good honest Newfie food you should try it.
We had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant! Our Room 23 had been recently renovated and was very nice and clean, as was the bathroom. However, the bathtub plug kept getting plugged up during showers due to the force of the water, causing the water to fill beyond ankle height. We requested another room and were given Room 24, which was older with outdated furniture but still clean. The toilet tank in this room kept running loudly, and there was no solution provided by us or the hotel staff. The blinds in the bathroom were broken and missing panels, compromising privacy. The front desk and restaurant staff worked hard to address our concerns, allowing us to switch back to Room 23 at no extra cost. Though we could still hear the water running from Room 24, it was an improvement. If management were more proactive in addressing repairs, our stay would have been more enjoyable. Overall, the hardworking women managing the establishment deserve praise and recognition for their efforts.

The wait for my breakfast was long, only because there was a large group of church ladies being served and only one waitress, but it wasn 't too bad. I could help myself to coffee and the waterfront view was nice to look at. It 's a very old-school place and could use an update, but I liked the experience and the food, and the portions were huge for the price. The waitress was wonderful. It was like stepping back in time,
This little place really needs a face lift...very old and dated. However, it was clean and offered a restaurant the served very good food.
I find the food to be excellent and the service quite good they are family friendly as I had 2 young grand children with me .
