we visited the golden Shield-Wilde on a canal holiday at the nearby canal grande union. this is a nice pub with friendly staff. we could order a meal to be delivered (kovidende reasons) that was met and delicious. inside was clean and well decorated and above all a beautiful pint! What 678Rose doesn't like about The Golden Shield:
A cold restaurant and on mentioning this the landlady became quite aggressive in her approach. No menu except on blackboards. I didn't mention regarding the quality of the food burnt garlic bread and also burnt lasagne and the chips were overly greasy as they had been cooked several times. Nice to see busy pub with friendly locals. Bar staff seemed a bit in an experienced but great atmosphere.
A beautiful atmosphere. we felt very welcome as our dog bailey. will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere friendly people. Great selection of Ale's the classics. Will be visiting again soon.
