Launde Abbey - Harborough

This restaurant is wonderful! The peaceful atmosphere allows for a perfect experience, complemented by the magnificent views of this beautiful Christian retreat. The nursing staff is numerous, and they offer a wonderful selection of well-prepared meals. The staff truly make you feel welcome in this lovely abbey.

We couldn't secure a reservation for Sunday dinner, so we opted to visit in the afternoon instead. What a delightful experience it turned out to be! The menu looked enticing, and the dishes that arrived at our linen-clad table overlooking the charming courtyard were absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were perfectly made, featuring generous fillings, and we enjoyed scones that were just the right size, served with jam and cream. There was also an impressive selection of cakes on the upper level. We definitely plan to return for Sunday dinner. Don't make the mistake we did a few years ago by passing it by—give them a call to discover their homemade cakes and wonderful food!

I really enjoy discovering a new café that provides great value and quality food. Although it's part of a retreat, the café is open to everyone. The menu features a wide variety of typical café items. I opted for the Brie, cranberry, and bacon panini, which arrived quickly and was deliciously hot. It came with homemade slaw and a fresh, crispy salad. Everything was incredibly tasty. The staff were polite and efficient, just as you would expect. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by—you won't be disappointed!

The online menu looked appealing, and what was presented to us on a lovely linen tablecloth at a table overlooking the courtyard was simply wonderful. The sandwiches were perfectly made with delicious fillings, and the scones were just the right size, served with jam and cream. The selection of cakes on the top tier was impressive, too. Plus, we enjoyed refills on our tea and coffee. We’ll definitely return for the Sunday lunch! Don’t just drive by—like we did a few years ago on our bikes—stop in and treat yourself to some homemade cakes and excellent food!
