This is an all-around good community restaurant, great place for family friends or business. I think it is the best pizza in town. The buffets change every day and have a lot of variety, you won't walk away hungry. My favourite is meeting friends for breakfast !! View all feedback.
What Edgar McDermott doesn't like about Mariner's Galley:
We had a great breakfast buffet here with a good selection of items to choose from. Good service and somewhat of an odd decor for a town situated next to a river! View all feedback.
Definitely a mixed bag. As I said, the service was excellent. The food was mixed. Smoked fish appetizer was mushy and tasteless. Complaints (after 1 bite), resulted in a 50% discount for an inedible dish. Crab claws had been frozen (a mouth full of water when you chewed). Fried fish items seemed much better.
I'm told the place experienced fire in the past two years. The furniture that was replaced is weird. The chairs are very low and the tables are very high.the booths should have a warning sign on them. You may wack your knee on the table in the booth. There's not much room there. Then, unless you are 6" + tall, your legs are left "dangling" because the booth seats are so high.It makes me wonder if the hotel owner has ever taken a seat in his own hotel. The food is pricey. The portions are ok. For the town of Goose Bay it is probally one of the better eateries.
I loved my experience at Mariners Gallery, the food was tasty and my server Gagan was very friendly. I would recommend eating there!
Like your typical Bacon and Eggs Breakfast? This is the place in town for your breakfast. Lunch has a Buffett but likely cheaper ordering off the menu. Music can be a bit loud to enjoy a conversation, but the food is good.
I'm writing this review as a play by play. I'm in Goose-bay because my flight was cancelled. Mariners Galley is so far so good. The restaurant is not very busy, so getting a seat and a menu was a breeze. Greeted by a genuine friendly smile from the young lady, and a pop delivered in no time! Let's let this play out lol! Food on the table in reasonable time. And another bright smile! Home fries were good, so was the fried chicken. Creamy coleslaw was delicious, but not enough. Overall,A good meal, friendly service, I'm in the north so as the saying goes "you pay a little more in Labrador". Would certainly recommend for the fried chicken dinner!
